What is the SXSW Sydney® 2025 Volunteer Project?

The SXSW Sydney 2025 Volunteer Program is a partnership between SXSW Sydney and Casual Hands. Between 13-19 October, volunteers will play a key role across the festival – supporting event operations, assisting attendees, and helping behind the scenes with logistics. It’s a unique opportunity to get involved in a globally recognised event and experience the energy from the inside.

Volunteer eligibility requirements​​

  • Must be 18 years or older​

  • Availability for a minimum of 15 hours throughout the duration of the SXSW Sydney® 2025 event (October 13 – 19)
  • Completion of an online orientation session and attendance of all required training sessions

  • Possession of a Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Important Dates

  • Application Period: 15 August - 8 October
  • Interviews: 03 September - 10 October
  • Orientation & Training: 2 October - 5pm to 8pm
  • Event Start: 13 October 2025
  • Event Close: 19 October 2025

  • Orientation & Training: Complete both online and face-to-face training to get event-ready
