What is the Riverfire 2026 at South Bank Volunteer Program?

South Bank is a proud partner of Brisbane Festival and one of Brisbane’s premier viewing locations for Riverfire by Australian Retirement Trust.

As a volunteer, you’ll be part of the team helping deliver a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for the hundreds of thousands of people expected to visit South Bank for Riverfire on Saturday 5 September 2026.

Volunteer roles may include welcoming visitors, providing wayfinding and event information, supporting accessibility and inclusion initiatives, assisting with queue and crowd flow management, and supporting precinct operations teams across South Bank.

You’ll receive training, on-shift support and recognition for your contribution, while gaining hands-on experience at one of Brisbane’s biggest annual events.

Volunteer eligibility requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Availability for your full assigned shift on Saturday 5 September 2026.
  • Completion of online Induction and attendance at the online training
  • Possession of a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), free for volunteers
  • Completion of your full Luigi Jobs profile by Wednesday 2 September 2026 (all required information and documents uploaded)

Important Dates

  • Application / EOI Period: Opens Friday 21 August 2026 and closes Monday 31 August 2026, or earlier once volunteer capacity is reached.
  • Interviews / Screening: Rolling from Monday 24 August 2026, conducted as applications are received.
  • Mandatory Online Training: Thursday 3 September 2026 (time tbc)
  • Event Day: Saturday 5 September 2026
